EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Terpolymer) is a highly durable synthetic rubber commonly used as a waterproofing membrane on flat roofs and facades.
EPDM rubber roofing offers a long-lasting, waterproof and energy-efficient roofing option, and is virtually maintenance-free. It also requires no heat or welding meaning it’s safer and quicker than other flat roofing materials.
UV and Weather Resistance: EPDM membranes are resistant to UV radiation, ozone, and other environmental factors that can degrade traditional roofing materials over time. This resistance helps prolong the lifespan of the membrane and ensures long-term protection for the roof structure.
Environmentally Friendly: EPDM is a recyclable material, and some manufacturers offer recycled content in their membranes. Additionally, EPDM roofs can help improve energy efficiency by reflecting sunlight and reducing cooling costs.
Low Maintenance: Once installed, EPDM membranes require minimal maintenance compared to other roofing materials. Periodic inspections and minor repairs may be necessary to address any damage or wear, but overall upkeep is relatively straightforward.
